Renovation & Repositioning
Joshua Green Building
Downtown Seattle
Winner of "Best Rehabilitation Project" at the Historic Seattle Preservation Awards 2010
The Joshua Green Building is registered as a historic landmark in Seattle. Our renovation work began in conjunction with the 10-story building's 100-year anniversary and included a seismic retrofit, demolition of existing tenant spaces throughout, and the construction of a new utility and restroom core, exit stair, and non-primary windows. The west façade was reconstructed and window configuration was modified to maximize the views of the Puget Sound and to increase energy efficiency. A complete seismic retrofit, as well as new mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, were included in the scope of work. Storefronts on the ground level were replaced with dramatic steel-and-glass canopies, and a new rooftop deck was added for tenant usage. Our work was recognized as a "Best Rehabilitation Project" at the 2013 Historic Seattle Preservation Awards.
